Brecon Beacons and Tenby

Since my last post I have now been to South Wales, lovely scenery in the Brecon Beacons and considering it was Wales we were really lucky with the weather!

But a word of caution, if you intend to go to any rivers or photograph any waterfalls in the warmer summer months use insect repellent! Unfortunately I did not and I got bitten almost 40 times in about 2 hours!

The Brecon Beacons on a sunny day are a great place to see views across South Wales, we travelled along the A4069 which is listed as one of the great driving roads in the UK ever since it was on Top Gear and Jeremy Clarkson drove a Mercedes SLK AMG along it.

I think Top Gear must have had the road closed for filming as there were to many motorbikes and caravans to really enjoy the road but the views were breath taking!

After The Brecon Beacons we travelled to Tenby in the South West of Wales, it is a very picturesque seaside resort with brightly coloured buildings all around the harbour.

In the distance you can just about see the island of Caldey which is only inhabited by about 40 monks and a few islanders. The island is also home to Atlantic Grey Seals and 1000's of sea birds who use the steep cliffs as a nesting site.
